Caffè Bravo was formed by John DiPaola, who immigrated to the U.S. from his hometown of Amorosi, Italy, and John’s wife, Mary Lou, in 1994.  John brought the traditional Italian cooking passed down from generation to generation to the quaint East Rock neighborhood of New Haven. From a neighborhood market, Caffè Bravo has grown into one of New Haven County’s best-known eating establishments.


Caffe Bravo's head chef is Santos Caceres, who brings over 20 years of culinary experience to the restaurant.  Santos has been the executive chef in top Italian and Mediterranean restaurants throughout Manhattan and Southern Connecticut.
